  A unexpected Oscars season fav. Thoroughly enjoyable time. Drama drama drama and beautiful shots. Interesting questions about the institution of faith vs its authentic counterpart. Ralph Fiennes slayed.

  Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones did wonderfully. The score was amazing. The plot was harrowing. Cinematography was incredible.

  Simply did not need to be 3.5 hours long though. And I stand by that.

  Such a good movie! Equal parts dark comedy, twisty mystery and a very deep and comprehensive criticism of our society. B.J. Novak perfectly walked the line of poking fun at stereotypes in Texas (and New York), while ultimately being respectful, thorough and moving. The plot was extremely well done, with lots of speculation on our obsession  as a society with true crime (particularly as fodder for podcasts), the opioid crisis, cancel culture, nationwide division and more. Novak and Ashton Kutcher especially both stole the show with their performances!

  at one point I was so scared I jumped and accidentally punched Jacob in the face

  very good but I def didn’t even see at least a quarter of it because I had my eyes and ears closed
