Jakey G you carry so hard in a film that is kinda pointless. Felt like it could’ve been longer if it was doing something, but it didn’t do much so glad it was quick

A fun, lighthearted film that I almost fell asleep to for a 2nd time.

I tried watching a review because I'm sure there were deeper themes, but it's just a lot of older stories that I have no interest in. So I am glad for this modern interpretation/adaptation of many other stories.

The main takeaway is get Ponyo some ham!

Wowza. Beautifully shot and crafted, twisted, dark. You can empathize with characters even though it is so unrelatable to most peoples reality.

I, unlike Chris , really enjoy how they landed the plane. I think you get a lot out of that last scene. Film major Chris resorts to bullying and belittling me when I steamrolled our initial movie night pick (although it wasn’t really steamrolling, more so rallying a crowd).

Here is what Chris’ review should’ve been:

A fun bow to tie on the first iteration of book club. The book, Mickey7, is not a good book. The movie is much better. I think Bong did a good job focusing on parts that mattered and drawing out the gold from the pile of dirt that was the book.

EDIT: thought i’d put here since it’s more important than the rest of my pedantic review so great job rob, mark, and toni!

That being said, as a self…
