  Haven't seen anything quite like this before, a very cool concept that isn't executed as well as it could be. Hammy scripting and acting frequently let down the great premise.

  It does the final act unfurling very well although it may have gone one twist too far by the time the credits roll. It all makes sense but that didn't stop me burst out laughing at the ultimate twist.

  Winter's Bone 2010

  This is a captivating, perfectly paced noir offshoot. Rather than intensity it opts for chilly realism and a genuine sense of place. The locale is possibly the star here, the cloistered, over-defensive and hostile inhabitants playing the supporting role.

  Jennifer Lawrence is extremely talented. I hope she doesn't get bogged down in projects like The Hunger Games, she's got incredible potential. Her performance here carries so much subtle world-weariness and inherent knowledge of her predicament.

  I've not seen as good a performance from the guy who plays her uncle (John Hawkes) before.

  I enjoyed this film a lot.

  The Dark Knight Rises 2012

  Bloated, poorly paced and some spotty performances. More than the sum of its parts though, a decent conclusion with a few great sequences. Particularly enjoyed the Batman/Bane confrontation midway through, probably the best fight scene in the trilogy.
