Seriously loved this!!! Resident Evil hexalogy meets Mad Max meets 40K.
Is noughties-core a thing? This is that. It’s cool to see someone still making stuff like this. Also very cool to see a post-apocalyptic world that actually looks interesting and like it has a bit of thought behind it.

Whilst parts of this feel like another Belfast Bus Tour, it’s impossible not to get absorbed in these characters’ lives. The laughs are sparing and effective, and the performances are excellent. It’s a real honest portrayal of two people broken by depression and how their connection helps them work through it.
I didn’t see much marketing but was sold on the trailer and so glad I went, I definitely recommend it if it makes it abroad!

I read a critique recently that talked about certain stories about gay men feeling like watching someone playing with dolls, and that feels spot on here. The leads may as well be- even when the actors do their best the characters feel like plastic, fresh out of the box, not allowed to sweat…
