Joaquin phoenix’s ability to imitate Cash is surreal and it brings Cash’s memory to life in this film. Compared to other biopics I’ve seen such as Elvis and Rocket Man this ranks highly but that’s probably due to me liking Cash as an artist more than the others.

“Happiness is only real when shared”.
The journey the viewer goes on with Mccandless and his spirituality is enlightening and his unfaltering motivation that seems to rub off on you makes this a spectacular watch. Jon Krakauer’s ability to provide insight into Mccandless’s mentality and present the development and change as he goes on his journey into the wild is highly impressive. The powerful story telling along with the calculated detective work combine to create a masterpiece of literary non-fiction that forces the viewer into a pensive state. Watch this film.
