Longlegs is one of those movies that isn't for everyone, but the people who dig it will dig it deep. I purposefully went in as blind as possible (no trailers, didn't engage with what I've been assured was stellar marketing, etc.) All I knew about it was that it was directed by Osgood Perkins. After The Blackcoat's Daughter, that was enough for me to venture out.

I think it's one of those movies that you get out what you bring…

I feel like I need to watch this again for it to sink in properly, but for the time, I will say this.

The technical skills on display are fantastic. The film is gorgeous when it wants to be, and the darker parts look like paintings at times.

The performances are excellent, and more than a little messed up.

It seems to have a lot to say?

Like I said, I'm going to watch it again, but the story is a bit hard to follow when one needs a nap.

This is an old favorite. I used to watch this all the time with my father growing up. In an "aww" moment, I got it for him the same year he got it for me.

This is only the most recent time I've seen this movie. It's my favorite movie of all-time, and I'll thank you not to judge me. I first saw it somewhere between three and four years of age and it's been a cultured obsession ever since then. Big name actors, fun stories, and horrific effects make it one-of-a-kind! You know, except for the sequels, but we won't speak of them.
