  The fact this won’t be Best Picture is as unfair as the whole story. I read (and loved) the book years ago, and this is a perfect creation to complement it. You could freeze every frame and it’d sell as artwork. Experiencing it as the characters themselves took it to an entirely new level emotionally and visually. Really just perfect.

  The brutal part was having to see Joe Alwyn. He never deserved Taylor.

  I’m as shocked as you are that I walked out of a 3 hour+ movie wanting to watch it AGAIN. Somehow both soft and hard, devastatingly beautiful, with a foreboding score. Adrien Brody’s sad face play wins every award. It gets better the longer I think about it.

  A white man choosing his own security & comfort over justice and morals and ethics? Call me a dangerous lib but color me (not) surprised.

  To be fair, this is a classic courtroom drama my parents would love to watch on TV. The moral dilemma was at least a new twist.
