Bio degradable
I don't take this site seriously enough not to shitpost or have a real bio
The pacing of this one is SO weird. This movie was 69 minutes and it still felt too long in places and truncated in others. Lots from the novella left out and lots changed or invented for the movie. It's so saccharine, I can see why the makers of the immortal Alistair Sim version cited this movie for inspiring the dark tone of their adaptation.
Not one I'm likely to revisit, but it's fascinating to see what was prioritised book-to-screen before 1951's Scrooge well and truly set the mould for all versions after it.
Rewatched with Werner Herzog's English commentary.
Highlights:
- Werner Herzog calls Mick Jagger retarded

The quintessential movie for anime fans transitioning into pretentious film nerds.
