Well that was one of the most miserable and stressful films I've seen in a while. Fuck me sideways. I just felt dirty watching it. Some of the plot resolutions were a bit cliche, the start was slow, the soundtrack was a bit jarring at times but other than that I liked it. Liked it in the sense that it had the desired effect on me. God damn I need watch a happy kids film or something after this.

The Illusionist 2006
Don't have much to say on it. Norton as per is great, the direction, production/set design, cinematography and score are all great. My biggest complaint is that I wish it was more about magic then about the romance which occupies a big portion of the film. Just felt a bit generic to me. Also you could tell it was a short story stretched out into feature length. Still overall a good film and I would recommend.
