Watched this when I was 15 and off school ill. I still think about it sometimes. Richard Jenkins is one of the great American actors.

Past Lives 2023
Really moving tender film. I was surprised by how unromantic it was based on the premise. As a whole it was quite undramatic, very sparse realistic dialogue, never boring though. It had this voyeuristic quality to it, loads of lingering wide shots; even though it was set in two huge cities you only ever felt like the three leads were present. Crazy this is the directors first film, it's very confidently made.

What is the point? If this was exactly the same film but with a fictional main character it wouldn't register. If Leonard Bernstein is so interesting why not tell his story in code like The Master or Tár? I think this is pure oscar bait, Cooper's mining the tapped biopic vein for silverware.
