Shrek 2 2004
This is definitely the funniest Shrek film by far, and I feel that it’s because this one has the least amount of crude humor but is still hilarious to kids and adults. Like the parody of Cops, the union joke with the fairy godmothers receptionist, and so many more. Tbh this movie is pretty timeless and it’s a shame that the series kinda went downhill from here and I don’t really have any hope for the 5th one to be any good either.

I know this movie is supposed to be hectic, but goddamn, there’s soooooo many plot points and characters to keep track of that you don’t really connect with any of them besides the casual “oh look there’s Chevy Chase” or whoever moment. Idk I see what it’s going for but like so much didn’t work for me.

On second watch, it is so interesting how a movie can be so laugh out loud funny and tragic at the same time. I rewatched this with my mom (her first time watching) and she said if the last like 30 seconds wasn’t in there, it really wouldn’t have come together which I have to agree with. Crazy how one little scene with minimal dialogue can just hit you like a train emotionally.
