    BIFF Film #5 (sorry, Four Mothers—you conflicted with the Big 10 Championship Game)

    Touching and funny. Charlie Creed-Miles was exceptional, and his character’s progression felt very natural. Cumming was also great—the actors had wonderful chemistry. And the backdrop of a sparse Canadian winter worked really well for me. There were some absolutely gorgeous shots.

    There are a few moments where the film seems to go a bit too over the top that felt very jarring; while the message of those scenes was important, it verged on being too much. But it’s a sweet film. J'adore les pétoncles.

    BIFF Film #4

    God, this goes so hard. I think I might just like “history from the perspective of journalists” stories, though, but this tells a really interesting story in a very cool way. Performances and direction are great, and it flows nicely (aside from maybe a moment or two that feel weird, though the beginning says there’s some factual basis so maybe those things actually happened).

    I had a great time. Czech this out for sure.
