This was just a miss from me. It seemed confused with what it was trying to say. A mix between starship troopers, aliens and some screwball comedy. But I don’t think k it does any of these justice. I really thought there was something there with the reprinting and duplicate idea, but it never really engaged with these very interesting sci fi ideas. I just think it was a movie that didn’t know what it wanted to be or say.

The remdemtive quality of life
Even in a world plagued by the worst of humanity, the act of birth is redemptive. The way in which this film depicts this is so visceral. I could not help but cry during the climax of this film. I think often about the existential threats that humanity faces, but even in the face of that, the continuance of life is so transcendent. No film has really captured the state of emergency we live in matches with the unbridled optimism of life. If is difficult to truly state how much this film captures the state of life we live in today.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The cinematography was excellent and I definitely relish a Vatican thriller.
However, for a film that seemed to have a fairly realist view on the sort of ecclesiastical infighting and real ideological tensions, the ending seemed so shoehorned for no reason. Could seem like an anti-woke take, but I don’t believe some outsider cardinal can make one speech and be elected pope given the intra-church battles that the film had already clearly displayed. Kind of ruined the whole thing for me.Translated from by -
Speed Racer 2008
I think I will defend this movie as a masterpiece until the day I die. It reminds me of when I was a child and why I love sports. I think it is easily the greatest sports movie I have ever seen because it earnestly embraces the idea of sports as pure art and religion. The drive to drive. Pure willing. Yet, at the same time this earnestness and purity clashes with the reality of the settings in which sports…
