The Lord of the Rings 1978
I had only ever seen parts of this as a kid and I didn’t like the animation style then. Watching it now it’s really interesting to see how they combined film with animation. The inspiration this gave Peter Jackson is evident in certain scenes. It’s cool to think that for years this was the Lord of the Rings movie you could watch before Peter Jackson came along.

It's my first review on Letterboxd! Saw this film because there was nothing else I wanted to go see for Valentine's Day. This movie takes forever to get going, then has a few cool scenes, and then does NOT stick the landing. What the heck are even her powers? And what was the deal with the not real spider heroes? This would be a lower score if it wasn't for the cool train scene. I also do not approve the use of A Christmas Carol in this film.
