This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
A triumph.
The types of tales we need to be getting weekly in theaters. A novel-esque, multi year, multi generational yarn where we turn absentee fatherhood and grief traumas into a devil monkey.
The great thing about the concept of the Monkey is the "toy" forces our characters to make decisions constantly. To leave us with some philosophy or grand moral reasoning as to why they turned the key. Why they wanted to see what happened.

There's nothing better in my mind than one of my favorite directors first features. Imperfect in the best possible way. Cracks along the edges.
Fill it full of some of the best actors of the generation, set it in a rundown casino in Reno NV. A character actor in a leading role. A 90s crime film with semi-unexpected twists. Its literally made for me in a lab. Its going in the top 4 rn.

Sometimes i feel like there's no where left to go, i guess no where but down. Unlike Alien or Aliens, humans seem to be on the other end of the boot literally suffoxating us. My kind of sci fi, more like prometheus.
