  I had started this years ago but wasn’t feeling it so only made it 45 minutes or so. 

  I don’t know what I was thinking, for this film might capture Lynch’s own humanity and open soul with the most clarity in his body of work. It’s quite beautiful and gentle.

  I’m sure it’s hard to make a conventional biopic about Bob Dylan — if it can even be done (I’m Not There provides a reasonable structure for sure a life) — but I don’t know how you even attempt to make one without Dave Van Ronk or Allen Ginsberg. 

  Timothée puts in good work on his speaking and singing voice, and most others are genuinely embodying their characters; Monica Barbaro has got Joan Baez down. 

  But this movie does not…
