Boo for the terrible movie.
Yay for the shots of the old Toronto waterfront skyline at night! Just the CN Tower and like maybe 6 skyscrapers - so simple yet beautiful, while only missing a view of the Royal York Hotel which would have still been visible at that time.
Just so ya know, the old Bank Of Montreal building aka First Canadian Place is the one the UFO crashes into!

After finishing up a long morning of appointments and having the rest of the day off of school I asked my 13 year old boy:

I'd never heard of this before it started getting mentioned on Criterion Channel and all of a sudden it was on there today.
So I popped it on and WHAM!
This is easily one of the best British films of its time, at least.
It's like watching Mean Streets or Quadrophenia as directed by Ken Loach but set among the Jamaican sound-system culture of 1980s Brixton.
Turns out that writer/director Franco Rosso worked…
