This is another one of those movies I give 4 and a half stars to, knowing I'm going to bump the score up a few weeks later... and guess what it's been a few weeks.

Chungking Express is about women as subjects... ogling women, but it's like intellectual, ya know.

There are two main women in Chungking Express, one in each of the stories the movie is split into. One is 'the woman in the blonde wig' and the other…

Monsters, Inc. might legitimately be the most creative movie ever made. The monsters, the energy the world they live in thriving off the collected and controlled screams of children who they have access to from these magical door portals that connect to the closets of said children, manufactured in this massive factory of teleportation. It's great in concept, let alone in the visual language in which it's all portrayed, during Pixar's golden age. (You can tell this was Pixar's golden age because it's the time period in which i was a child)

Also, Boo and Kitty are very cute.

I cannot believe this movie is as good as it is. It's as good as any Evangelion episode I've ever seen, it expands on certain details, like with Shinji's walkmen, in new and engaging ways, it hits on all the Eva thematic, atmospheric and character beats as well as any Evangelion material you've ever seen. It's just great. I can't believe I used to just say these movies were all terrible and should never have been made. We're all dumb, don't forget it.
