the highs of this film (if you can call it that) are brilliant, and there's a few moments of that. I found myself grinning through the auditions, and through the performance itself. There's a sense of accomplishment and kinship, something very deeply human about the experience.

Apparently Sam Neill going fucking insane is one of my favourite subgenres.
I had an absolute blast with this, can't believe I slept on it so long. It's an absolute mess of contrived character decision making and features some of the most questionable sound effects I've ever heard put to film, but by god did I have fun.
The set design is RIDICULOUS. What a cohesive labyrinth, with the heart of the ship being the most impressive.

How does one make a documentary feel like an impressionistic piece of art?
The surreal, omnipotent imagery, combined with Philip Glass's hypnotic, foreboding & playful soundtrack make this a feast for the senses.
This, all in conjunction with the use of montage editing create neural pathways causing the viewer to reflect and introspect unlike anything I have experienced before. That is if you're not simply in awe at the otherworldly frames presented.
