"It's okay for me to be happy."

Really pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. Its polarizing nature is totally understandable, and although certain elements in the second half get weird and just a smidge heavy-handed (par for the course with Bong Joon-ho), it's hard not to get swept up in this story that is equal parts hilarious and pitiful. So happy to see Pattinson shine in such a complex role and for Bong to be back, even if this doesn't quite live up to Parasite (but honestly, what could?).

THE BEST PICTURE PROJECT: BEST PICTURE WINNER (2018)

So the story goes, Walt Disney once responded to criticism that his later films were corny and devoid of creativity with the following: “I like corn. That’s what I’m all about.”

I have a feeling the Walt Disney of the 1960s would have enjoyed Green Book, because from beginning to end Green Book is one endless tub of corn. The narrative is solid and safe, but completely stale and lacking in any…
