Spielberg's run of "and introducing" across Temple of Doom, The Color Purple and Empire of the Sun for three future Oscar winners is mind melting. I don't know what the stats are for something like that but this seems unprecedented.

When you think about it this is Director Bong's The Big Lebowski, and that's pretty neat.
Was unsurprised to see this was based on a book because it's such detailed world building. Bong Joon-Ho is excellent at that already but there are so many quirky details and layering going on, that it feels this will reward multiple viewings.
