okay so:
mickey madison is insanely good
the lighting is remarkable
the last scene was pretty much perfect and broke my heart

None of the slow building tension could make up for the fact that I never had a reason to care for the main character. The genre of stone faced loner with a soft heart is so overdone and has, within that, been done so much better. His affinity to the Smiths can only be seen as a joke but it’s not one I found particularly entertaining. Overall I felt like I was not the target audience for this film, not surprising, it is after all a Fincher film and I am not a 19 year old film bro.
