I really enjoyed the buildup but threw too many ingredients in the pot and didn’t seem like it really knew how to combine them all into something satisfying in the end. Still a super fun movie and Rob is killing it the whole time, we stan Mickey 18 he’s apex Mickey for sure

Michael Clayton 2007
Always love a movie that follows the David Ershon from The Other Guys storytelling method, start at the end baby. Thought this was a legal drama but turned out to be an A-1 thriller, unbelievably gripping off the rip and just keeps building what a banger.
I do feel like my legal drama urge has not been sated so pls comment below your favourite legals for me to watch and don’t forget to like and subscribe thanks

Saturday Night 2024
I liked the concept but instead of making an interesting story it’s just a nonstop glazefest to the point of exhaustion, turning what should be a relatable outsider story into an obnoxious victory lap about how cool everyone is. Saving grace is a surprising number of great performances to balance out the cringey writing style, especially Cooper Hoffman, Dylan O’Brien and Cory Michael Smith. Also pretty funny that every girl in this seems to only exist to swoon for one of the male comedians, makes it read even more like fantasy from an annoying theatre kid

A Real Pain 2024
A lot to like about this one, beautifully crafted and with a simplicity and depth that I wouldn’t expect from such a young director. Some of the flourishes and lingering shots - although quite stunning visually - left me a little wanting plot-wise, but the core story is so emotionally resonant, with such real characters that I was always quickly brought back in. It’s clear that Eisenberg has a lot to say in this movie, and the deep personal connection…
