Underworld 2003
Matrix meets Werewolves and Vampires. It’s funny how films from the early naughties feel so dated now in comparison to modern blockbusters that they stand out as a bit of fun. It may be crazy 00’s colour grading/editing but it’s a fun ride.

This is so goofy. Full of slapstick and ridiculousness, it’s a flat out parody at times. The film’s opening is awkward as hell and doesn’t quite land in the way that it should but Pattinson’s so damn fun in the role and is so physical in his acting that it more than makes up for it. It’s interesting that Bong always gets such great physicality from his actors, it really helps bring them to life. The stand out is Naomi Ackie who’s just brilliant! Shades of Del Toro in this, as well as Miyazaki’s Nausicaa. A great time in the cinema!
