Come Drink with Me 1966
Landed on this after spending way too long scrolling through endless watchlists and catalogues, before deciding on something completely out of my wheelhouse: a wuxia film.
Let me tell you, I will be back in this wheelhouse soon! Amazing score, fantastic set pieces, gorgeous set design. But all my flowers go to Cheng Pei-pei for such an engaging, intriguing lead performance. I kind of want to seek out her entire filmography now.

Also, I've been listening to the Magdalena Bay song "Top Dog" a lot recently which references this film so now I get the reference which is nice.

Mulholland Drive 2001
This hung like a filter in front of my eyes for the rest of the day. I felt like I was seeing Mulholland Drive everywhere.
Lynch has the same quality as one of my favourite authors, Jorge Luis Borges. They both present ideas and concepts that I feel like I just barely grasp, but if I try to verbalise I can't do a better job than the works themselves.
