Original, absurd, and allegorical, which are qualities I love about Bong’s movies!
But not nearly as strong as Snowpiercer and Parasite for me.
The three stars are for the sheer epic spectacle and great message in the finale.
I find the characters super… one note? Just kinda hard to love.
Some plot points felt kinda hand wavy. And there were some subplots that seemed unnecessary. It almost felt like this wanted to be a tv mini series.

That said, it felt borderline fan-servicey to the idea of motherhood for me. It was like a fantasy of the motherhood journey that sometimes felt a bit pander-y/saccharine, particularly the howling moment. I could almost hear Roz trying to say, “I have a special needs kid and I’m not like…
