Tim Key showing up in the movie gave it that extra half star 🤌🏻
Robert Pattison has out done himself again, this time literally becoming a goofy bumbling korean style actor (I swear he had Song Kang-ho mannerisms)
1st screening to start off my Sundance - what a lovely lovely movie 🥲 For the John Carney fans
I can't believe we had to wait almost 40 years for this movie to exist.
The 3rd act is just peak Transformers cinema.
The film is told from 3 perspectives, but somehow, even though I know it's a Kore-eda film, I was assuming the worst, each time they changed the point of view. (Especially with a title like Monster!)
But I should have known better, each perspective got more tender and empathetic, and I started to feel bad that I was expecting the worst. Kore-eda at his best is telling stories about marginalized people that just want to live their lives and be free.
