somehow this was my first time watching this movie.
god i love romcoms, but boy did most of this movie not age well. regardless the vibe is incredible and makes me nostalgic of high school romance. unfortunately i fear i knew no one in high school like julia styles and heath ledger

the concept of this film was so captivating, and the pacing was perfect. we enter this strangely perfect world and slowly the “truth” is unveiled. right as the audience (of the movie) finds out, so does truman. together you take this journey, rooting him on, just like the people watching the show do. it’s all very meta in a way because you feel apart of his support system. it’s a masterclass in showing, not telling, and maybe that’s because, by nature,…
One of those movies I will never watch again, but cannot stop recommending. It’s a one-time, but NECESSARY experience.
This film feels more like a sculpture than a 2D piece of media. The way the script, shots, music, montage, and style are all finely crafted and connected to tell this slow revealing, gut wrenching story. It’s art. Literal art. It should be played in museums.
My only beef with this movie is it used my favorite song of all time (Tezeta) to reveal one of the most stomach emptying, haunting ends to a movie.
