The sheer stupidity of these people makes this unwatchable. I thought I had difficult parents but boy if a real-life Marie does exist, bless her heart and bless her soul.
Also it is really unfortunate that the people who made this film decided to change the nationality of the couple because why on earth would French people fucking go to Spain when there are a million similar idyllic rural villages that exist in their own country where they speak the language??!? The fact that the real-life couple is from Netherlands is like CRUCIAL. Difficult to suspend one’s disbelief that far.
