This was beautiful, entertaining, and endearing. I was planning on giving it 4.5 but the ending just didn’t feel right. So many things were thrown together that I felt they spent so much time fleshing out. Regardless, the vibe was amazing, the voices were perfect (I will admit I watched the dub because I’ve heard such good reviews and it did not disappoint). I liked the family that was formed (except for the witch of the waste, she sucked). Overall a cozy movie with some dark themes, but just felt they could’ve ended it in a more satisfying way.

American Animals 2018
As far as movies go this is the most convincing “don’t do crime” movie I think I’ve seen. I watched this because I wanted a fun little heist movie but this was not that. It was a mix of an action heist movie and a documentary which was very impressively done. I like how they leaned into the unreliability of the narrators. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more sick watching a movie than during the scene with the librarian.
