To me, the essence of the film lies in the one scene where a shivering Lee almost disbelievingly looks at Allerton trying to share warmth with the former, hoping that perhaps this is proof that he is indeed lovable; someone who is capable of being shown affection beyond physicality and a sense of desperation.
