Before Sunrise 1995
was distressed watching this cause it reminded me so much of my intense fling w the 6’5 marxist photographer w a heavy NY accent who wrote poetry about me & showed up w flowers half my height every date. goodbye.
beautiful film, pairs well with Eternal Sunshine which I saw earlier this week - love is worth it even if temporary.

A Real Pain 2024
Such informed and accurate representation of anxiety and OCD— the best I’ve seen in a film.
Short, simple, and raw—it feels so relevant to my life right now. It made me think about this Western obsession with comfort: “there’s a place and a time for grief.” there’s no room for grief in the day-to-day—no space in our schedules to be human and feel ~inconvenient~ emotions. the characters reminded me of real people I once knew and experienced.
After the film, my friend and I reflected on where we’d fall on the spectrum between David and Benji, it feels like I’m a pendulum.
