Jesse Plemons was the standout here, dude was hilarious. This whole thing was a stupid funny type of humor that normally doesn’t do much for me. This worked where others don’t though because it had enough awareness to make fun of itself throughout, and just really exaggerated the ridiculousness, which won me over. Solid comedy.

The Rule of Jenny Pen 2024
Extremely well acted, dark, and odd. But mostly I was just pissed off by how ridiculous the lack of security and supervision were in this “care home.” There is no way some deranged old fucker is going room to room harassing other residents for hours each night without a single staff member noticing. It’s completely implausible and would be criminally negligent.
I’m also disappointed that this hinted at an interesting character backstory, but did absolutely nothing with it.
My actual enjoyment of this film is about 2 stars, but I’ll kick it up to 2.5 because the performances were great.

The People Under the Stairs 1991
This was all around just a good time. I adore the concept of people hiding in the walls. It’s just a terrifying thought. And while this film is more campy than scary, it’s in the best way possible. Good recommendation from Troy.

The Devil's Rejects 2005
Otis had some tremendous one liners in this that had me laughing my ass off. And I just loved Tiny with all my heart. Good vigilante flick but not quite as intense as the original.
