A lot more of a "what if Elvis was old" than a "what if Elvis fought an ancient mummy", but the fact that it manages to combine both into something coherent is quite remarkable. Surprisingly heartfelt and melancholic, even if I think it's a bit over-directed and wordy at times (both things I would never ever think this would be).

Lake Mungo, undeniably, has a lot going for it. Its format is quite unusual and it's executed with quite a lot of finesse.
