I liked this the best of our mini fairy tale season. She's a great Cinders, almost more of a Tintin. Interesting to observe the changes in hair - what happened to her fringe? Expert lesson in Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen. Music sounded terrible and tinny but that was probably the system we were watching on. The songs are great, great songs. Timothée did a really good job at performing those songs, even if he did always seem like Timothée Chalomet. Monica Barbaro did not sound like Joan Baez, but her voice was lovely, and Ed Norton did a great job too. The music is great, it didn't matter who performed it. Really a tragedy. Two men compete (not really on purpose) for the same woman. Both are good guys. One represents progress/"civilisation"/society etc, one represents wild west homesteader values, from the lawless times I guess. One wins the girl and then becomes very successful and famous, the other loses the girl, and that was all he wanted, and he's NOT EVEN KNOWN by his local community when he comes to die.
