    No idea why people think this is dreamlike. A dream is more like City of Pirates, where the dialogue is conventionally incoherent but is polysemous, provocative, dark, and humorous. I also see it being compared to ISOLT, but Proust also has humor, irony and intelligence; his attention to detail becomes dissociative and breaks the illusion, reminding us that we are reading a book, whereas with Tarovsky it tends to simply submerge us further.
