Renny Harlin had a theory in his biography that he lost his powers when he cut his hair short. But as we can see in his quick Deep Blue Sea cameo, the fluttering hair is still intact! And Deep Blue Sea was a great film to revisit in Arrow Film's UHD after many years.

It is a very nostalgic film. At the time, I even made an anemic computer game based on it, where you have to escape shark by…

A nice, slow-burn, made-for-TV ghost story. The production values are quite good, and the performances feel very natural. The much praised soundtrack is just silly. There's a constant, gloomy horror score foreshadowing the twist of Richard's abuse allegations. Epic and heroic music plays as we see fingers typing out the social media post that accuses him.

The narrative is partly disjointed and clumsy, and…
