This is the kind of film that delivers a beautiful, mindfvck idea well. A solid, one-time watch. There aren't really colourful or memorable scenes worth going back and experiencing again, and Deni Villeneuve seemed to shoot every scene at dusk, so there's almost no lighting or colour variance, but still such a nice idea delivered well.
"You think it's cool to hate things" she said with the fresh steam rising off the shit she just took on Chaucer.
That scene kinda captures the vibe of the film: writing a check for some great epiphany that it's unable to cash.
The plot revolves around the protagonist learning to grow from unexpected places, but it's always unclear why -- or why we should care for that matter.
