I wanted to be submerged in this film world and never come out of it ever again. Every aspect of this film was fun and frothy. Why don't we as a society do more serpentine dancing? Cuz it seems fun.

But Davies takes this book and puts his signature melancholy onto it, making it grand and unrelenting. Lily Bart is doomed from the start.
