i will write a more serious review for this on my next rewatch because there is a lot of beauty in this stuff. but for now, since it’s almost 1:30 am, i will leave you with this tweet i made about it ages ago.

people and food and the relationships between all these things mean so much and i’m so glad i watched this movie and cried like a baby when tampopo said what i quoted. what an experience. what a masterpiece
the less i say about this, the better. i cannot believe this is reviewable on letterboxd. i am the biggest ABBA fan that most people in my life know and i loathe this. i cannot believe the jim henson workshop made those absolute sleep paralysis demons that are the marionettes of the ABBA members. i will give this half a star because, i mean, everyone in ABBA did cameo in it. but overall this is a crime and i actively wish i could forget it
