Story about dealing with pain…
I can’t say this is a story that reasonates…
Kieran Culkin was good, but Oscar-winning? Both Jesse Eisenberg and him delivered subtle but powerful performances.
And the entire movie is FILLED with Chopin’s music and wide shots of touristic spots, which made it feel like a tourism ad by the Polish government…
This is just amazing! Although its impressiveness weakens a bit after binging the train wreck that is Game of Thrones.
Writing is flawless. Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix and the rest of the cast were absolutely amazing! Ned Stark, I mean Maximus was impressive whether he is in combat or just talking. Commodus might have surpassed Darth Vader as the greatest villain of all time, personally. Connie Nielsen as Lucille was great as well.
The music was epic. Production design made the watch immersive too!
Wasn’t what I expected. I think this is my first Kubrick original.
It’s interesting Kubrick tried to expose things like that. Tom Cruise has too cunning/deranged a face to play Bill Harford, a good but curious doctor with morals. The first conversation between him and Nicole Kidman was quite good. But it kind of went downhill a little bit from then, except for the mansion scene, which was wild. That actually reminds me of Midnight Cowboy.
The use of soundtrack/music…
