Speak No Evil 2024
Too many movies with this kind of scenario and it can feel redundant, sure, though James McAvoy plays in this one so it is automatically worth watching. It actually exceeded my expectations! Speak No Evil delivered great suspense, even if some parts of its first act were more dull and the final home invasion thrill was quite generic. At least, I think it was well-directed.

Some breathtaking wintery landscapes and a spectacularly orchestrated score that perfectly complement a wild bunch of fully fleshed-out characters. How can one not be entertained by a Tarantino movie? Even if a nearly three–hours–watch appears unmanageable for some people, I'd say the runtime flew by because I was personally captivated throughout. In about every good thriller there's a good dog :)
Elsewhere, in the beauty of the French Alps we get our attention shifted on a terrible and ambiguous fatal accident. The movie succeeds to make the suspicion last to the very end while the characters become well-founded in the interim of poignant dialogues. The strong and enthralling screenplay is ingeniously laid out and bets to baffle the viewer. I can totally agree that this film remains a great court drama and owns its rank in the best pictures of 2023.
