This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Weak first act, but once this movie gets going it’s pretty enjoyable. The twist about the villains being military contractors was pulled off pretty well, but it also doesn’t have much impact on the story - it’s just a neat detail.
Visually beautiful, narratively confusing. Every shot is composed with so much thought and intention, and the movie is filled with gorgeous saturated hues. The main romance is captivating, but while Craig’s motivations are straightforward and clear to the viewer, his partner’s just aren’t. It makes the story difficult to follow, and the characters hard to fully appreciate.
Every time you think this movie can’t get funnier it does. Every running gag pays off, every bit builds into a bigger bit, this is 90 minutes of comedic Chekhov’s guns with zero wasted time or budget
I feel like this movie requires surround sound and a massive screen to be fully appreciated, neither of which I have. But still a beautiful tribute to the human spirit and how we rise to face adversity
