It’s like the complete and total antithesis to the Good the Bad and the Ugly. That movie is fun, thrilling and bombastic. This one is morose, meditative, and brutal.
It captures the grittiness and despair of the Wild West as well as the disillusionment with the American dream that obviously echoed during the period this movie was made.
