Very much in the sense of brutalist architecture theory this film leaves no fat, despite its over 3 1/2 hour runtime, and is only short of being self reflexive to achieve a brutalist film. This exposes the great hypocrisy of humanity to long for civility but to succumb to its vile nature. From its composition and assembly to the actors expressions and movements this segment is executed in an absolutely mozartesque way.
