Green Book 2018
I ended up liking this more than I thought I would. Pretty much the classic odd couple dynamic which I think is hard to screw up. The scene where Mahershala Ali is force fed KFC is painful, but beyond that I didn’t find the preachiness on race too off putting. It’s a decently entertaining film and you can’t ask for much more than that.

Man with a Movie Camera 1929
Pretty wild viewing this just a couple weeks after rewatching koyaanisqatsi. Two procedurally similar films made 50 years apart on opposite sides of the world. Film is truly alive, a being that metastasizes and evolves within the narrow scope of what a camera can capture. I could watch people hustling around over dramatic orchestral music for hours and hours.

Dazed and Confused 1993
One of the best period pieces that’s alarming closer in time to the period it’s portraying than the present. Still looks amazing for a 30 year old movie too, better than most filmmakers can do these days. Deep cast with tons of memorable characters. A very pleasing film that’s heartwarming and fun, can’t beat that.
