An equal parts poignant and enjoyable film that provokes thought but maybe should’ve provoked a little more editing. Some moments of real clarity but I think a muddled central (guilty?) conscience that led to some overly broad character choices. Perhaps a trip to a family holiday camp would’ve been a more satisfying resolution.

Good Grief 2023
Feels like two potentially compelling movies forced into one without the conviction or nuance to be anything much at all. Nice cast, gorgeous locations but if I’m neither crying or laughing at a movie like this you’ve done something wrong.

All Quiet on the Western Front 2022
Masterful in parts but disgracefully long and at times far too heavy handed, squandering an incredibly strong start.
