A decade+ after its release, I think it’s pretty near the bottom of QT’s catalogue for me. Part of it is just the intensity of the subject matter… hard to consider that on one hand and enjoy the typical QT gunplay-and-banter on the other, at least for 2.5 hours. Inglorious Basterds obviously did the same thing, but it worked way better for me. Maybe the balance is a bit off here… think there is just so much bleak and naked…

A lot more fun than I remembered. There’s real joy in the simplicity of Captain America and his band of old time-y friends running around Europe, getting into adventures and taking down Nazis (sorry, Hydras) together.
