This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Is this as good as Fury Road? Definitely not. Is it still a good movie? Yeah, it's pretty solid.
Definitely a different tone and structure from its predecessor, ditching the all out action chase for a more structured and measured character piece.
Like Theron before her, Taylor Joy does a lot with a little, nailing the about 4 lines she has in the movie. She really sells the emotions that this character goes through without speaking and she was great…
I just want to say that I don't think this movie is better than the first one in terms of the plot, characters or story, but is still good. This is the first of a 2 part story so my issues will likely be resolved in the next one. But that doesn't matter.
This is the best looking movie I've ever seen. The amount of care and work that likely went into this is just unfathomable to me. The fact…
WB had major balls in making this movie—it more than paid off. Joker is an excellently paced, beautifully shot in-depth character study of a fucked-up dude named Arthur.
This movie works because of one man: Joaquin Phoenix. There is no supporting actor, just him. And holy shit is he good. 100% being nominated and my front runner for the Oscar right now. The amount of effort and dedication he put into the role really pays off; in my opinion, he…
The beginning of an empire.
For the first MCU movie it definitely doesn't feel like it. This feels like a small, lower budget action movie that's more of a comedy than a superhero movie. But nevertheless, 22 movies and 11 years later, RDJ is snapping his fingers with the infinity gauntlet.
RDJ is fantastic as Tony Stark. He's basically the real-life version of him so the casting couldn't be more perfect. Also love his chemistry with Paltrow and Favreau.
Really wish more MCU movies had AC/DC as their opening songs but oh well
8.5/10 the groundbreaker
