    “I’m not queer. I’m disembodied.”

It’s been 24 hours, give or take, since I left the theatre after seeing Queer. Still I’m struggling to compose my thoughts into a state of coherence. Even now, as I’m writing this, I hesitate. My fingers hover aimlessly over the keyboard. Is it really a matter of streamlining my inner monologue into something at least semi-legible? No. It’s finding the words for how it made me feel.

Clint Eastwood’s Beau Travail, homoeroticism and all, which is equal parts as insane and incredible as it sounds. Surprisingly light for a war flick, Heartbreak Ridge somewhat overstays its welcome with a bloated 2+ hour runtime but that aside, it’s an endlessly quotable, effortlessly hilarious, honest to god masterpiece with Clint doing his best R. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

41 years ago on this day, Ridley Scott's 'Blade Runner' made it's theatrical debut, entering our consciousness and forever changing the way we think about science fiction. To mark the occasion, I took the liberty of revisiting Scott's…
